The 20-ounce Claw Hammer is used primarily in carpentry for hammering nails into or out of wood. Historically, the nail hammer is associated with woodworking, but it is also used for other purposes.
A nail hammer consists of a metal head and a handle covered in non-slip rubber. One side of the head has a smooth or textured back and is used for hammering, while the other is a pair of downward-curved V-shaped claws and is used for pulling nails out of wood. The harder the claws are bent and the longer the handle, the more force can be applied.
